Michelle Liptak has been teaching literature, writing, and first year seminar at Siena College for fifteen years. An alumna of the College, she went on to earn her doctorate in English from Saint John's University in 2010. For nearly a decade prior to her full-time teaching appointment, Dr. Liptak directed the Writing Center at Siena College. Her research interests include contemporary American literature, women writers, feminist theory, trauma studies, and writing/rhetoric. ​She ​is the co-founder and co-editor of Gleanings: A Journal of First-Year Student Writing​, ​has received several research and curriculum development grants​, and has ​presented her work at a multitude of regional and national conferences​.
