Dr. Michael Rings holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Indiana University, and he began teaching at Siena College in 2021. He teaches courses in the philosophy of art, social and political philosophy, American philosophy, and philosophy of race. Dr. Rings’ scholarly interests include aesthetics, ethics, and social-political philosophy. He has published work on the philosophy of popular music, aesthetic cosmopolitanism, and the ethics of personal authenticity. At present he is working on the topic of cultural appropriation.
