Dr. Stavros received degrees in art history from Big Ten Universities: B.A. from the University of Michigan, M.A. from Indiana University, and Ph.D. from the Pennsylvania State University. Her scholarly interests are in the history of Byzantine and American art, and her current research on the American Arts and Crafts vase painter and jeweler, Florence Koehler, surprisingly combines both her interests. She teaches introduction to the visual arts and art history.

My Siena Experience
My Teaching Philosophy
My instruction is based on the presentation of interesting, relevant, and challenging perspectives on the formal, historical, and cultural contexts of art and architecture. My courses inspire students to think critically, to explore ideas beyond the classroom, and to understand fundamental and enduring expressions of humanity.
What I Love About Siena
I love teaching at Siena College because of its commitment to the liberal arts and its support of academic excellence in the classroom.
My Favorite Courses to Teach
My favorite liberal arts courses to teach are Medieval Art, American Art, Art to the 15th Century, and Art from the 15th century because students discover a world of human endeavor and begin to understand the meaning of humanity.
