Dr. Laura Finnerty Paul is a Teaching Assistant Professor of Management at Siena University, where she teaches Introduction to Business, Introduction to Management, and Sport Management. She played a key role in developing the Introduction to Business course and serves on the Faculty Teaching Technology Committee, the Golub Lecture Committee, and the Student-Designed Interdisciplinary Major (SDIM) Committee. Dr. Paul also serves as a content advisor and mentor for student teachers in the education program pursuing business certification.

Dr. Finnerty Paul is also actively involved in the Sport Management program, where she coordinates student volunteer opportunities with the Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) and co-led a travel course to Costa Rica focused on studying sport, sustainability, and the Costa Rican economy.

Dr. Finnerty Paul earned her Ph.D. in Management from Stevens Institute of Technology, where her research examined the effects of diversity and trust on information sharing in groups, with a focus on virtual teamwork. She also holds an MBA in Management Systems and a B.A. in Political Science & Economics from Fordham University, and she studied abroad during her MBA at Sacred Heart University in Luxembourg.

Before joining Siena, she served as Dean of Academic Affairs at Northwood School in Lake Placid, NY, where she oversaw curriculum development, introduced innovation initiatives into the classroom, and led the transition to online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has also taught at Skidmore College, where she advised students and served on several committees.

Her research has been presented at conferences and published in academic outlets, and she has received awards and grants, including support from the National Science Foundation.

Beyond academia, Dr. Finnerty Paul is active in her community as an Adaptive Ski Instructor at Double H Ranch and a volunteer at events such as the Lake Placid International Youth Hockey Tournament.
