I am Professor of Philosophy and Associate Dean of the School of Liberal Arts at Siena College. My work is at the intersection of epistemology and cognitive science, and focuses primarily on philosophical cognition - or how our minds work when we think about philosophical issues. I have published articles and reviews in Analysis, Behavioral and Brain Sciences, Metascience, Monist, Notre Dame Philosophical Reviews, Philosophical Psychology, Philosophy Compass, Philosophical Studies, Philosophy and Phenomenological Research, Philosophy of Science, Review of Philosophy and Psychology, and Teaching Philosophy. Several of these articles have been reprinted in anthologies and textbooks, and I have also contributed chapters to a number of other anthologies, including Advances in Experimental Epistemology, Advances in Experimental Philosophy and Philosophical Methodology, Blackwell Companion to Experimental Philosophy, Current Controversies in Experimental Philosophy, Epistemology for the Rest of the World, Intuitions, and Oxford Studies in Experimental Philosophy. I published my first book Experimental Philosophy with Polity Press in 2012, and recently published my second book, coauthored with Jonathan Weinberg, Standing Up for Philosophy with Oxford University Press in 2025.
