Dr. Jayanta Pokharel, an Assistant Professor of Business Analytics and Actuarial Science recently joined the Department of Business Analytics and Actuarial Science at Siena College School of Business. He received his Ph.D. in Mathematics with concentration in Statistics from the University of South Florida and MS in Finance from the University of Tampa, USA. He also holds an MBA from Ace Institute of Management and BS in Physics from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. His research focuses on real data-driven analytical predictive modeling, stochastic intensity function and monitoring indicators of natural phenomenon, statistical inference and probability distributions, operations management and optimization, and machine learning. He enjoys teaching predictive analytics, quantitative business, operations management, and MIS. Dr. Pokharel is a passionate educator and brings an experience of having managed, led, and nurtured enterprises, especially, in the field of business education in Nepal. He is a firm believer of research-based-education to relish, foster and nurture a culture where faculty and staff embody what we aspire our students to become: self-regulated lifelong learners and responsible and contributing members of our society and the world.
