  2. Students who wish to apply for the psychology internship must submit an application to the Internship Coordinator by the application deadline for placement into an internship site for the following semester.  The deadline and contact information for the internship coordinator each year are listed on the main Psychology Internship (PSYC 480) website.  Application forms are available online by clicking the link on the main Psychology Internship (PSYC 480) website.  The application form also may be obtained from the Internship Coordinator.
  3. The Internship Coordinator will notify each applicant about the status of their application prior to registration and provide each accepted applicant permission to register.
  4. INSUFFICIENT NUMBER OF ACCEPTED APPLICANTS, OR APPLICANTS WHO COMMIT TO THE INTERNSHIP AND THEN CHANGE THEIR MIND MAY LEAD TO THE CANCELLATION OF PSYC480 FOR A SPECIFIC SEMESTER AS DETERMINED BY COLLEGE POLICY. It is important to only accept and enroll in the course if fully committed to completing an internship.
  5. Accepted applicants will be provided the opportunity to meet with current interns to discuss their experiences at various sites and will be provided a list of active internship sites, with contact information, by the Internship Coordinator.
  6. Students accepted for an internship are responsible for contacting the site, setting up an interview, and obtaining a commitment from the site. A starting and ending date, as well as a weekly work schedule should be established prior to the end of the semester preceding the internship. After a commitment has been obtained from the site, the Internship Coordinator should be notified.

Interns are also required to submit a term paper or lead a capstone presentation in which they summarize their experiences in the field and integrate their experiences with psychological theory and/or research findings.
  9. It is the intern's responsibility to comply with any rules or regulations of the agency at which they are placed.
