Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program

This service provides free income tax preparation to qualified individuals.

Siena students participate in the Internal Revenue Service's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. This service provides free income tax preparation to qualified individuals. These individuals are qualified based upon a federally established income level.

Students become certified VITA preparers through the Internal Revenue Service "Link & Learn " program. Each spring semester, students prepare tax returns and educate the VITA client. They serve in libraries, community organizations and senior centers. This valuable tax preparation training often serves as a foundation for the selection as a profession. Siena believes this program lends itself to the College's Franciscan mission of service to others.
