Logging your Hours

When engaging with an ACE program, members log their service hours in the Bonner Web Based Based Reporting System (BWBRS). To record your hours, navigate to siena.bwbrs.org to log into the system. On the left you will see five tabs under your student menu:

  1. My Home Page | This will show you all recent activity, notices from the Bonner Foundation, and will help you track the total amount of hours you have completed.
  2. Student Profile | This is where you will find your documentation and contact info. You should be sure this is up-to-date at all times.
  3. Community Learning Agreement (CLA) | A Community Learning Agreement must be created for each site you will be serving at and must be created before you start your service. You will create a CLA at the beginning of each semester.
  4. Hour Logs | You will use this tab to log hours. Remember that in order for all hours to be signed by your supervisor and school administrator, YOU MUST SIGN THEM FIRST. This has to be completed in order to successfully complete your term. Once you have signed your hours for the month, please be sure to notify your school administrator to sign them as well.
  5. Service Accomplishment | A Service Accomplishment needs to be completed for each CLA. You will complete one at the end of each semester. You only need to complete one per semester and it should be 2-3 sentences long, reflecting on what you've accomplished that semester/how you made an impact.

Community Learning Agreements

IMPACT. REFLECTION. YOUR EXPERIENCE.

A Community Learning Agreement (CLA) is a key document that each ACE member must complete describing their responsibilities in their service and impact in the community. The CLA is divided into three sections.

  1. Position Description | This will already be filled out with information you provide to the school administrator. Please DO NOT EDIT this section
  2. Primary Objective | This is the most important part of the CLA. You will talk about the effect that you are trying to create in your service. Please use the following template to complete the primary objective description:
This semester I will be (POSITION TITLE). I will be (LIST THE SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES AND PROJECTS YOU'LL BE WORKING ON). This will benefit the community (EXPLAIN HOW YOUR SERVICE WILL SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY).
  3. Learning Goals | What are you hoping to learn from this experience? How will you have grown at the end of the semester? Here, you should select two goals and write one sentence for each goal explaining why you chose it.

See an example CLA below.

A: If you would like to create a new position or training and it fits into one of the categories below, let us know by completing this form

  • To log hours with a position that is not currently available in BWBRS.
  • Create a CLA for a position that is not in BWBRS.
  • To log hours for a Training or Enrichment Event that you attended (conference, seminar, campus speaker, etc.).
FOR SUPERVISORS

Q: Why can't I sign the member's hour logs?
A: Many times this is because the student has not signed the hours yet. The signature process happens in the following order: Student >> Site Supervisor >> School Administrator. In this case, contact the member directly and ask them to sign their hour logs.

Q: The member's hours are incorrect, what should I do?
A: Do not sign the hours - direct the member to correct the hours before you sign them.
