Robert has been retired since 2010 and since that time, he has maintained close contact with Siena University, its staff and students.
However, prior to retirement (2005-2010), Robert was a Senior Solutions Consultant with
Medsphere Systems, Carlsbad, CA. As such, he trained clients on the use of Medsphere System Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Trainees included Nurses, Physicians, and ancillary hospital staff. He also evaluated corporate and client educational needs, developed the appropriate training programs, including course manuals and course syllabuses, and trained client trainers. Finally, Robert supported the Sales Team effort with “EMR” expertise including developing and presenting product demonstrations, and providing potential clients with educational and implementation paradigms.
Prior to joining Medsphere, Robert served as Lead Clinical Applications Coordinator (CAC)
at the Northport Veterans Administration Medical Center from 1996 to 2005. As “CAC” he
established, developed, and directed a team that implemented the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) at Northport. At the same time, Robert served as Center representative for CPRS in the national effort to implement CPRS across the Department of
Veterans Affairs Medical Centers nation-wide.
Robert’s research career included being a Research Investigator and Principal Investigator with Tenure with the Veterans Administration from 1975 to 1994. His research efforts focused on all aspects of the pulmonary circulation and its relationship to heart/lung
disease.
In parallel with his research career, Robert held a number academic appointments teaching Anatomy and Physiology at a number of Medical and Dentistry schools. His main teaching
effort over the years was at SUNY at Stony Brook’s School of Medicine (1975 to 1997) where he was Associate Professor of Physiology and Biophysics, teaching medical students
Pulmonary Physiology.
Robert received a BS in Biology from Siena College, and his MS and Ph.D. from New York University. His Post-Doctoral Fellowship was with the New York Heart Association.
