Siena offers generous scholarships and grants to help make the education of a lifetime affordable for Saints. In fact, we gave out $62 million in aid last year! On average, Saints receive $23,000 from Siena toward their education. 

ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS

All freshmen applicants are automatically considered for merit scholarships when they apply for admission. Each student is eligible for one academic/merit scholarship.

PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP
  • Demanding curriculum with honors and AP courses
  • Academic achievement (90+ GPA)
  • SAT critical reading and math of 1160+ or ACT score of 25+ (if submitted)
  • Involvement in the school and community
THE FRANCISCAN SCHOLARSHIP
  • Demanding curriculum
  • Academic achievement (87+ GPA)
  • SAT critical reading and math of 1120+ or ACT score of 24+ (if submitted)
  • Involvement in the school and community

THE BISHOPS SCHOLARSHIP 

Awards $3,000 annually to students who gain admission to Siena College from the following high schools within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany: Bishop Maginn High School, Catholic Central High School, Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons Middle and High School, Saratoga Central Catholic High School, The Academy of the Holy Names, Christian Brothers Academy and La Salle Institute.

COUNSELOR VIP SCHOLARSHIP

Awarded to select students who apply prior to October 15 as resident students for the Fall 2023 freshman class and submit their FAFSA. HEOP and student-athletes are ineligible.

THE SIENA GRANT

Students must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be eligible for this need-based grant. It is awarded based on demonstrated financial need determined by the FAFSA and strength of academic record.

ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIPS

Through the generosity of friends, family & alumni of the College, Siena has established 330 endowed scholarships. To apply we ask that you simply email aid@siena.edu and request consideration for these scholarships. TRANSFER STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

Siena offers three merit scholarships for transfer students: The Siena Phi Theta Scholarship grants funds to students in this honor society. The Franciscan Transfer Scholarship gives money to students with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.  The St. Claire Transfer Scholarship provides funds to students with a GPA of 3.0 -3.19. The Mission Scholarship grants money to students with a cumulative GPA of 2.99 and below. Transfer students who submit the FAFSA are also eligible for need-based aid and endowed scholarships. Please note-each student can only receive one merit scholarship listed above.
