Early start:

Discovered his love of history in second grade. “My teacher had a journal from the Civil War and would read it to the class. Things exploded from there.”

Living history:

Peter chose Siena for its range of experiential learning opportunities. “I took advantage immediately,” Peter says. “By getting out in the field, you meet people and make career connections.”

Summer scholar:

Spent the summer reviewing the official and personal correspondence of British loyalist Christian Daniel Claus. The findings will be used to expand educational program offerings at Johnson Hall State Historic Site.

Following clues:

As an intern with the Saratoga National State Park, he is researching the personal accounts of those who occupied a segment of land that was pivotal in the Battles of Saratoga and eventual surrender of General Burgoyne during the American Revolution. His work will be used in the development of historical markers for the Siege Trail, a new walking tour.
