Why did you choose to come to Siena?

I’ve wanted to go here since I was a child; I’m actually the third generation of my family to come to Siena. My grandfather has been bringing me to basketball games for years. What makes Siena even better is the education. The college has a great business program, which I hope to continue to learn from.

Why did you decide to become a part of the Siena College ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps) program?

I’ve wanted to become involved in ROTC since I was a junior in high school. I wanted to be a part of something that made me feel like I was helping people. After my initial interest, a friend helped and guided me into the program. I am really motived by the fact that once I graduate college, I will be an Army Officer.

How are your able to balance the program’s schedule with your academic and social life?

To be honest, it’s not that hard. You just need to make sure to straighten out your priorities and get work done when it needs to be. I usually end up doing my homework between my daytime classes, so that I am able to hang out with friends and still get enough sleep at night before I have physical training in the morning.

In being a part the ROTC program, you’re more conscious of what you eat in the dining hall compared to other students. What’s your guilty pleasure meal to eat on campus?

My favorite food is the buffalo chicken patties, which are only served at Massry Commons. There was a point in time last year when I’d drag my friends across campus to that dining hall if I heard they were serving them for dinner.

What’s one word you would use to describe Siena?

Hardworking. This includes the students who decide to come to Siena with the goal to excel and push themselves, the teachers who have gone out of their way to help myself and my classmates, and the campus employees, and especially the plumbers and electricians I worked with last summer. Hopefully, this will be an aspect of the school that continues a long time after I’ve graduated.
