Siena was right around the corner from where I was living at the time. I’ve heard nothing but good things from my friends who have attended Siena College. I never thought I would be able to get the chance to come here, so the second I found out I could, it sealed the deal for me!
I chose Accounting because I went into the military in 2005 and the only job they offered me was finance accounting. When I started, they had me go to finance school and I only very briefly touched on accounting, but I found an interest in it. I also found out I was pretty good at it!
My most meaningful experience would be receiving the Veteran’s Scholarship award. Just feeling that I am appreciated and that people see how hard I am really working is incredible to me. I have never been acknowledged in that way.
I am currently participating in 3 clubs on campus and 2 activities outside of campus. I’m the Program Coordinator for Professional Activities for Beta Alpha Psi, the Commuter Student Association Transfer Liaison, and I work with Operation Smile. Outside of campus I am team Co-Captain for the Alzheimer’s Association “Steps of Hope”, and a Leader at Life Church.
I am going to do my CPA right after school. I want to get my license and try to pursue one of the big four companies. I plan to stay around Colonie for a while and eventually own my own business.
