The campus is gorgeous, the people are kind and the faculty is truly invested in your overall growth. There are endless opportunities to get experience in whatever field you are pursuing. From the Creative Arts to Biology, each major has a slew of great faculty members who are excited to see you succeed and will help you every step of the way.
I was always interested in journalism, more specifically television. Through this major, I’ve had the chance to take journalism classes, television production classes and was able to intern at the on-campus radio station, WVCR 88.3 the Saint for credit.
During my internship at the radio station, I realized that it wasn’t far-fetched to make big things happen. When the Siena Fest concert artists were revealed last spring, I knew I wanted to interview both Hoodie Allen and Sammy Adams. With the help of Dr. Todd Snyder and Darrin Scott Kibbey, I was able to connect to Student Activities and turn my dream into a reality.
I learned a lot from Hoodie Allen in particular; he taught me that you always need to start somewhere and where you begin doesn’t have to be where you end up. If you want something badly enough and are willing to put your all into it, you can make it happen. I’ll never forget how kind and humble he was, and I aspire to maintain these qualities as well.
I plan on working in New York City in a marketing related field.
