Service / Volunteering

Educating servant-leaders is close to the heart of Siena’s Franciscan mission.

St. Francis rejected the idea that a leader was a “superior,” someone over and above and somehow better than those who reported to him or her. He insisted that leaders should be “ministers and servants,” and he frequently reminded the friars that Jesus himself came among us “not to be served, but to serve.”

In order to prepare our future graduates for a lifetime of servant leadership in the workplace, within their families, and in their civic and religious communities, Siena offers a host of volunteer service opportunities both at home and abroad.
