Chemistry and Biochemistry Club

Anyone at Siena, regardless of background, is welcome to join our club. We strive to bring hands-on science to local elementary students through National Chemistry Day and other volunteer opportunities in the community.

What we do

Our club also participates in the meetings of the local section of the American Chemical Society (ACS), allowing opportunities to network with chemists from other local colleges and universities.

Bonding Lunches

Our bonding lunches are held monthly. All chemistry and biochemistry majors and anyone interested in finding out more about the chemistry and biochemistry department are encouraged to come. At bonding lunches, you’ll have the chance to talk to the faculty and students who make up our department, plus there’s free pizza!

National Chemistry Day

Each year to celebrate National Chemistry Day, the local ACS Chapter sponsors an event at the New York State Museum in Albany, NY. Chem Club does a wide variety of hands-on experiments for kids, including making slime, invisible ink drawings, fun with dry ice, including making ice cream! Our table is always a big hit with the kids and their parents. We have as much fun as the kids!
