The goal of the Asian Students Association is to promote awareness of Asian culture amongst the Siena community. This is accomplished through our annual variety show in the fall, Fall Fusion, and through a varied series of films, lectures, and other cultural programs. ASA also functions as a unifying force for students of Asian descent; as opposed to having separate organizations for each region of Asia, ASA attempts to unify them all together, in order to further educate each other and the Siena community about our diverse cultures.
This is A.S.A’s biggest event of fall semester in collaboration with other DCCC clubs on campus. Fall Fusion showcases different talents from not only Siena College, but other campuses and outside performances as well. Each show has a different theme and all proceeds go to a charity of choice. This year, Fall Fusion will be held on November 19, 2011 at 7 p.m. in the Maloney Great Room. Admission for Siena students is free while regular admission is $5. So come and support not only indiviual or group talents on campus, but dance performers such as BHANGRA and S.O.L.I.D.
Asian Pacific American Heritage Month is celebrated during the month of May. However, because the semester ends early in May, APA Month is celebrate in April. A small event is held every weekend in celebration. Explorasia is APA’s biggest event which celebrates Asian culture with mulitple performances while food is provided. Donations are welcomed and all proceeds go to a charity of choice.
