Recent alumni return for dinner and conversation
Above: Siena Spanish students enjoy dinner and conversation with alumni Matt Grimes & Laura Frei who were on campus to discuss their career paths, current positions, and how studying Spanish has impacted both.
Laura Frei ’13 was a Spanish Education major and is currently a Spanish teacher at The Albany Academies.
Matthew Grimes ’12 was Spanish major with double minors in Global Studies and Multicultural Studies; Post graduation Matthew spent a year abroad in Argentina as a Fulbright Scholar. He is currently an International Programs Assistant at The College of St. Rose
Both addressed how how their Spanish majors helped them find professional focus and an edge in their post-Siena pursuits. The dinner was a great opportunity not only for language students, but also for any student interested in a career with an international focus or a desire to learn from recent grads who have been through the process of figuring out life after Siena. The evening was facilitated by Dr. Lisette Balabarca & Dr. Marcela Garcés.
