Tool Room Manager
Siena College is accepting applications for the full-time position of Tool Room Manager in the Office of Facilities Management. The primary purpose of this position is to manage the Stockroom and Tool Room team in providing support to the Maintenance and Mechanical trades, Grounds, Custodial, Events and Moves and Garage Departments. The Tool Room Manger will also provide leadership and assistance to the Inventory and Equipment Repair Technician with duties such as small equipment and tool repair, and inventory control. The Tool Room Manager also provides leadership and support to the Shipping and Reprographic Assistant with shipping and receiving duties. Other job responsibilities include creating Braille signs, logos, brass plates and dorm and office signs. In addition, this position is responsible for distribution of keys, tools, fasteners and personal protection equipment to all Facilities staff.
A high school diploma (associate’s degree preferred) and at least one year of relevant experience are required. A comprehensive understanding of computer programs such as Excel and Access is helpful to manage the inventory control system. Interested candidates should possess a general knowledge of campus facilities, tools and repair of tools, in addition to understanding computerized sign machines set up and implementation. Knowledge of Banner is helpful but not necessary.
