The mission of ILD is to provide a custom solution for your organization's leadership development needs. The following is a sampling of the types of programs that might include.

360-degree Feedback: In a 360-degree (multisource) feedback program, managers receive information about their skills or behaviors from feedback provided by others, such as subordinates, peers, superiors and sometimes outsiders such as clients. This program will allow participants to understand how best to collect and provide feedback in counseling/development workshop sessions to facilitate discussion, employee understanding and provide opportunities for employee development.

Proactive Influence Strategies for Leaders: One of the most critical elements of leadership is the ability to influence others to commit to the organization’s mission/strategy as well as specific objectives and tasks. Research has shown that leaders can improve their influence strategies and enhance the level of commitment they receive from others. This program will identify the use of influence strategies and provide customized training to help leaders and managers improve their use of the most effective and appropriate tactics.

Understanding and Managing Diversity from a Strategic Perspective: Diversity initiatives are undertaken for a variety of reasons in organizations, ranging from legal compliance to new market development to attempting to create a high-performance work environment. However, many of the best-intentioned diversity measures produce unexpected detrimental consequences due to conceptualization, design and delivery issues. This program will help participants manage diversity initiatives effectively and strategically for maximum organizational benefit.

Ethical Decision Making: Organizations of all sizes in nearly all industries are being held to higher ethical standards in their missions and operations by a variety of stakeholders. This program will focus on the role of organizations, both public and private, in society as well as the development of organization-wide ethical standards in helping participants develop their own personal code of ethics and learn strategies by which they can attempt to influence organizational ethics.

Leading Change Initiatives:
The one “given” for contemporary organizations is that change is inevitable in order to not only prosper but survive. This program will help participants understand the internal and external forces to which organizations need to monitor and respond as well as strategies for designing and implementing change initiatives.

Financial Literacy: One of the areas of responsibility in which both new and experienced managers and business owners find they are least prepared is understand the basics of finance and financial operations. This program will allow participants to understand the basics and “language” of financial management to assist them in better managing and leveraging the resources at their disposal.

Employment Law: The overwhelming majority of violations of federal and state employment and labor laws are the result of the actions of line and operating managers who have received little to no training in the laws which govern the work environment. Even though most organizations have in-house or external legal counsel in tandem with their HR staff the damage has typically already been done by the time counsel is brought in. This program will allow managers to learn about the many laws which impact the employment relationship as well as common day-to-day mistakes which are commonly made by managers to help employers avoid the detrimental effects which can be associated with a violation of any employment-related law.

Executive Coaching:
The primary purpose of executive coaching is to facilitate the acquisition and practice of relevant individual skills. Coaching also provides advice about how to handle specific challenges, such as implementing a major change, dealing with a difficult boss, or working with people from a different culture. This program will provide one-on-one coaching for executives or managers seeking to focus on a specific area of personal or professional development

Flexible and Contingent Leadership:
The model of flexible leadership provides a comprehensive explanation of the challenges facing leaders and the requirements for effective leadership, based on specific contingency factors encountered in organizations and in individual situations. This program will focus on understanding leadership within the context of organizational processes that determine the success of the organization as well as exploring the ways leaders can influence these processes.

Team Building: All modern organizations use teams to make decisions and facilitate and implement strategic objectives. This program will explore the multiple factors which impact team processes and outcomes as well as strategies for enhancing team effectiveness and productivity.
Building and Maintaining Trust: Trust is the cornerstone to effectiveness in all personal and business relationships. Without trust, individuals spend too much time protecting their own self interests as compared to focusing on what is best for the organization. This program will focus on strategies to cultivate, maintain and leverage trust relationships in organizations.
