Accommodations for Disabled Guests

Seating for persons with disabilities at the Commencement Ceremony will be pre-assigned. Please notify the Office of Academic Affairs by e-mail to by May 2, if any of your guests require special accommodations, including wheelchair access. Seating for persons in wheelchairs is limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

If your guest has difficulty walking or managing stairs (but is not wheelchair-bound), he / she will be seated in the Special Seating Section which consists of the top rows of the Times Union Center “lower bowl.” IMPORTANT: There are still 2 to 4 stairs he / she must WALK DOWN in order to get to these seats.

In addition, walking from the parking lot / garage to available seating may be challenging for elderly guests or those with special needs. Please consider renting a wheelchair.

One family member is requested to remain with guests with disabilities at all times.

Special Seating passes are required and will be issued only to those requesting disabled seating accommodations. These passes will be available for pick up in the Office of Academic Affairs (Siena Hall 219) between Wednesday, May 14, and Friday, May 16. If you will be off campus and unable to pick up your passes during this time, please contact or call 518-782-6654 to make alternate arrangements.
