Under Federal law and in compliance with Siena College’s Federalwide Assurance (FWA), anyone engaged in human subject research is required to complete the appropriate training on the protections of human subjects.

  • To fulfill this federal mandate, the IRB accepts the CITI Protection of Human Subjects curriculum.

The Siena IRB requires PIs (and their supervisors) who are recruiting individuals from vulnerable populations to complete additional CITI training modules. (The specific required modules vary, depending on the target population and setting.) This training can only be accessed after the basic Human Subjects Research course is completed.  The policy, with directions, can be accessed here.

NIH Certificates Have Expired

NIH discontinued human subjects training on 9/26/18. Training certificates were accepted by our IRB until 9/26/21.
