To best accommodate our guests, all seating for persons with mobility issues at Commencement will be pre-assigned.
Please notify the Office of Academic Affairs by email to Kathy Renaud at email@example.com by April 15 if any of your guests require special accommodations, including wheelchair access. Seating for persons in wheelchairs is limited and will be assigned on a first come, first-served basis. Passes are required for all special seating areas (see below). One family member is requested to remain with guests with mobility issues at all times.
If any of your guests have difficulty walking or managing stairs (but do not use a wheelchair), they will be seated in the Special Seating Section, which consists of the first two rows off of the concourse at the Times Union Center. Several stairs must be navigated to reach the seats.
All guest seating areas in the Times Union Center arena (except reserved wheelchair platforms) require guests to navigate a minimum of 3-4 stairs. If your guest cannot manage stairs, please consider renting a wheelchair and reserving a space on a wheelchair platform by April 15 (see above).
In addition, walking from the parking lot / garage to the arena may be challenging for elderly guests or those with special needs. Please consider renting a wheelchair.
SPECIAL ACCESS SEATING PASSES are REQUIRED for all Special Seating and wheelchair areas, and are issued in advance to those requesting seating accommodations. These passes will be available for pick up in the Office of Academic Affairs (Siena Hall 202) between Monday, May 11, and Friday, May 15. If you will be off campus and unable to pick up your passes during this time, please contact Kathy Renaud at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (518) 783-2307 to make alternate arrangements.
