The ILD consulting team is comprised of faculty and administrators from Siena College who come from strong careers in industry, government, and consulting.

Erik Eddy, Ph.D.
Associate Professor - Management

Douglas T. Hickey Chair in Business

Erik Eddy holds a Master’s in Business Administration and a Masters in Organizational Change from Bowling Green State University and received his doctoral degree in Organizational Studies from University at Albany, State University of New York.

Before joining Siena College, Erik was a Project Director for The Group for Organizational Effectiveness (gOE, Inc.), an Albany-based consulting group working with over 400 organizations globally including over one-third of the Fortune 100.

Cheryl L. Buff

Cheryl Buff
Associate Professor of Marketing

Associate Dean – School of Business

Cheryl Buff holds a BA in Psychology from Siena College, an MBA in Marketing from Adelphi University, and a Ph.D. in Administrative and Engineering Systems from Union College of Union University. She is the 2010 recipient of the Jerome Walton Excellence in Teaching Award and the 2013 Beta Gamma Sigma Professor of the Year.

Cheryl has served as Academic Integration Lead, Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, as faculty advisor to 21st the Siena College Student Conference in Business. Her research is in the area of branding, marketing ethics, self-control, market segmentation, social media marketing, and pedagogy. She has presented at over 35 regional and national conferences and has over 25 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Buff has published in Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Product and Brand Management, Sport Marketing Quarterly, Journal of Managerial Issues, and Marketing Education Review.

Michael J. Hickey
School of Business - Executive in Residence

Mike Hickey holds a BS in Marketing and Management from Siena College and a Master’s in Business Administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Mike came to Siena with over 25 years of experience in technology businesses. In his previous role as President of Pitney Bowes Software, Mike merged two like sized former public software companies (MapInfo and Group1 Software) into one integrated global business. Hickey worked at AlliedSignal (now Honeywell), for nine years, in various management positions.


Debbie L. Kelly

Deborah L. Kelly, Esq.
Associate Professor of Management

Deb Kelly has a J.D. from Albany Law School of Union University andreceived her B.S. in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Prior to joining Siena in 2004, Deb was the Regional Managing Partner of the Albany Office of Hodgson Russ LLP, concentrating her practice in the areas of corporate and commercial litigation. She continues to retain her status as “Special Counsel” with that firm. She is a past-president of the Capital Region Bankruptcy Bar Association and is a past-chair of the New York State Conference of Bar Leaders.

Mike S. Pepe

Michael Pepe
Assistant Professor of Marketing

Michael Pepe has a BS in Marketing from Siena College, an MBA in Marketing from Sage Graduate School and a DBA in Marketing from NOVA Southeastern University.

Prior to coming back to Siena as a full-time faculty member, Michael has worked as a marketing professional for 19 years in various positions such as retail operations, sales associate, buyer, sales promoter, brand manager, and senior business manager. His research entitled, “The Impact of Private Label Brands on Customer Loyalty and Product Category profitability," was one of four papers chosen worldwide for the Emerald Literari Network 2012 Awards for Excellence.

Mike was the recipient of the Siena School of Business research award in 2011 and service award in 2012. He has conducted research with students that has been presented at International Conferences and published in academic journals. Dr. Pepe is the faculty advisor for the Siena American Marketing Association student chapter.

Charles F. Seifert, Ph.D.
Professor – Management

Chuck Seifert holds a BA in Economics from the University at Buffalo, a MBA in Finance from Sage Graduate School, and a Ph.D. in Organizational Studies from the University at Albany.

Prior to joining Siena, Chuck held several senior management positions in banking and finance. He has also worked as a leadership consultant for several public and private organizations. His consulting has been largely focused on enhancing the effectiveness of the organizations’ leaders. His teaching and research interests include: leadership effectiveness; multisource feedback programs, and influence strategies. He is also in the process of writing a Leadership textbook with Pearson-Prentice Hall.

Paul W. Thurston

Paul W. Thurston, Jr., Ph.D.
Associate Professor of Management

Paul Thurston has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, a MS in Systems Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in Organizational Studies from the University at Albany.

Prior to coming to Siena, he was Project Director with the Group for Organizational Effectiveness. He is a career Air Force officer with a wealth of experience as a systems engineer, program manager, supervisor and professor. Paul’s teaching and research interests include: organizational justice, mentoring, personal activities on company time, student motivation in electronic learning, and strategic decision making.
