450 hours of real world social work experience are required through the junior and senior years. As seniors - 2 full days/week for the entire academic year!
This experience provides students the opportunity to put classroom knowledge into practice under the supervision of experienced community social workers and to personally learn what it means to become a professional, who makes a difference in the lives of others.
The department arranges internships for students, working in partnership with them to support their interests. Examples include: schools, hospitals, mental health settings, family and children’s services, domestic violence programs, probation, homelessness prevention, and working with the elderly.
