Human Subjects Research

Human Subjects Research

In accordance with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Code of Federal Regulations 45 CFR Part 46, any faculty, student and/or administrator, including external investigators not affiliated with Siena College, that plan to engage in research involving human subjects must receive approval from the Siena College Institutional Review Board (IRB) prior to initiating any research activities, on or off campus. It is the policy of Siena College that research involving human subjects must undergo internal review by the IRB to ensure the rights and welfare of these individuals are protected. The IRB has the authority to approve, require modifications in, or disapprove all research activities that fall within its jurisdiction as specified by both the Federal regulations and Siena IRB policy.
