Seating for persons with disabilities or mobility impairment at the Commencement Ceremony will be pre-assigned. Please notify the Office of Academic Affairs by email to email@example.com by April 15 if any of your guests require special accommodations, including wheelchair access. Seating for persons in wheelchairs is limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. One family member is requested to remain with guests with mobility issues at all times.
If any of your guests have difficulty walking or managing stairs (but do not use a wheelchair), they will be seated in the Special Seating Section, which consists of the first two rows off of the concourse at the Times Union Center.
IMPORTANT: There are still several stairs that they must navigate to reach these seats. In addition, walking from the parking lot/garage to available seating may be challenging for elderly guests or those with special needs. Please consider renting a wheelchair.
Special Seating passes are required for all Special Seating and wheelchair areas, and are issued in advance to those requesting seating accommodations. These passes will be available for pick up in the Office of Academic Affairs (Siena Hall 202) between Monday, May 8, and Friday, May 12. If you will be off campus and unable to pick up your passes during this time, please contact Kathy Renaud at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 518-783-2307 to make alternate arrangements.
