The following courses are offered through the Department of Public Safety.

Red Cross CPR/AED

American Red Cross first aid, CPR and AED programs are designed to give you the confidence to respond in an emergency situation with skills that can save a life.

Siena College Public Safety has certified instructors so the materials and training are offered at the cost of $19.00 per person.

Defensive Driving

A six hour course developed by the National Safety Council that provides practical knowledge and techniques to become a more safe and responsible driver.

Benefits

Rape Aggression Defense (RAD)

The Rape Aggression Defense Systems is a program of realistic, self-defense tactics and techniques. The R.A.D. System is a comprehensive course for women that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training. R.A.D. is not a martial arts program. Our courses are taught by certified R.A.D. instructors and provide you with a workbook/reference manual. The Rape Aggression Defense System is dedicated to teaching women defensive concepts and techniques against various types of assault, by utilizing easy, effective and proven self-defense / martial arts tactics. Our system of realistic defense will provide a woman with the knowledge to make an educated decision about resistance. The RAD course is a 3 week course.

Operation Identification

Operation Identification is a program to deter theft of valuable property and to help return it, if recovered.

Theft is the most common crime on any college campus. Valuable items can disappear quickly when doors are left open or bags are left unattended "for just a second." Most thefts are committed by people you know. By taking preventative acion, you can avoid becoming a victim of theft.
