Low Voltage Technician
Siena College is accepting applications for the full-time staff position of Low Voltage Technician. Reporting to the Mechanical Shop Supervisor, the Low Voltage Technician will apply knowledge of electronics principles to analyze and correct electrical problems in electrical systems and equipment including security systems, fire alarms, HVAC controls, building management system controls and electrical motor controls, etc. This position performs residential and commercial low voltage electrical work to support facility renovations, campus repairs and routine maintenance.
Requirements include knowledge of the NEC; knowledge of the methods, safety precautions and equipment used in the electric trade/ maintenance field. A high school diploma plus trade or vocational school (Associates’ degree preferred), and at least three years of experience are required for this postion. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are also essential for this postion. Candidates must possess a valid NYS driver license at time of appointment and must maintain such license throughout the tenure of their appointment.
