Bonner Class of 2017

 

Katelyn Andrews

Katelyn Andrews is an incoming Freshman in the Siena class of 2017. From Amityville, NY, Katelyn is currently a double major in Physics and Business. Over the past four years, Katelyn has worked on various volunteer projects which include: volunteering over 300 hours at a local hospital, working at a home for previously incarcerated women and their children, and going on service trips with Habitat for Humanity. Katelyn is looking forward to being a Bonner Service Leader and helping the community in any way she can.

 

Caitlyn Carlson

Caitlyn Carlson is from Warwick, RI. She is part of the incoming class of 2017 at Siena College. She is an English major aspiring to become an editor. For fun, she enjoys reading, writing, watching movies, and going to concerts. She is looking forward to helping the community through service as a Bonner Service Leader.

 

Megan Coleman

Megan Coleman is a student at Siena College. She is part of the class of 2017, and is majoring in the biology program. She has been accepted into the Bonner service leader program. Through this she will be completing many community service projects. These projects will be focusing on leadership and service throughout the community. She will be working with other student volunteers in making the community a safer environment. She will be learning about the history of the ACE community as well as working with her own mission of community engagement.

 

Felicia Comuniello

Felicia Comuniello is a Bonner Service Leader from the class of 2017 at Siena College. Felicia is an incoming freshman and is planning on pursing a career in Biology and minoring in Environmental Science. As a new Bonner Service Leader, she is planning on working with children who share a similar childhood as herself. Felicia hopes to show others who are faced with similar adversity to never give up and continue to strive for their dreams. In high school, Felicia was President of Student Council and ran numerous school-wide events but the community service activities meant the most to her. She enjoyed implementing a Hoops for Heart Knockout Tournament fundraiser and took the lead by organizing bracelets sales to raise awareness for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. She hopes to continue to serve communities with the hope that she may be able to make a difference in someone’s life.

 

Alexis Coy

Alexis is studying at Siena as an accounting major and hopes to change it to a double major in accounting and finance with a double minor in business administration and economics. She is a part of the class of 2017 and is in the Bonner Program. Through the Bonner Program she will be serving the community through The Trailblazers Program. In the Trailblazers Program she will be working with grades 6-8 in North Albany Academy. Alexis is looking forward to making new relationships with kids, being a role model in someone's life, and learning more about diversity. Outside of Bonner, she will be working at Talbots and hopes to join some clubs.

Alexandra Dalto

Alexandra Dalto is a member of the Class of 2017 and is an accounting major. As a Bonner Service Leader, she is a workshop coordinator at the Schuyler Inn in Menands, NY. Alexandra creates skill building sessions to help the residents get back up on their feet.

Katherine Gravante

Katherine Gravante, a freshman at Siena College is currently undecided in her major. In the past through her involvement in the St. James Youth Group she has participated in pancake breakfasts, pasta dinners, senior citizen Christmas parties, and rake n' runs. More recently she has volunteered on numerous occasions for the St. James Church Emmaus Ministry helping the homeless men at the Oxford Street Inn by making sandwiches/meals and serving them to the men. She has also volunteered as a teacher assistant for a fifth/sixth grade Religious Education class at Our Lady of Lourdes Church creating lesson plans and engaging the students in faith related activities and discussions. Apart from volunteering she works for the Town of Onondaga Parks and Recreation Department as a counselor at a summer camp for kids. She is extremely excited to be a part of the Bonner Program.

 

Daija Green

Daija Green is an upcoming freshman at Siena College from Upstate New York's scenic Hudson Valley. She is currently a Psychology major and planning to earn a double major in Education. Being a long standing Girl scout lhas instilled in Daija the value of community involvement. She currently serves as a Junior Member of her local Volunteer Fire Department and is a peer mentor. Through the Bonner Program, she plans to extend her love for service to the Albany area and work with children in Girl Scout and mentoring programs.

 

Randi Harp

Randi Harp is a freshman at Siena College and an Accounting major in the School of Business. Randi's main position is an ACE Community Issues Policy Analyst, but she also volunteers at Albany High School through the TeenCorps Citizenship Program. Randi benefits the community by digesting articles and press releases to be published on the policy options website in order for communtiy partners and organizations to use them as they need. These articles can also help community partners to achieve their goals and projects.

Emily Heald

Emily Heald is a freshman undeclared Liberal Arts Major at Siena College. She has created a very passionate connection with her service site; Siena College Trailblazers. At Trailblazers she works with sixth grade students at North Albany Academy developing their academic skills through tutoring. She also works with them to develop their social leadership skills. Emily is also involved with the Siena College Girl Scouts program. Lastly she dedicates time with multiple refuges with Siena College's Writing Partnership. Emily hopes to one day become a teacher or play an instrumental role within the educational process of children.

 

RaShonda Jones

RaShonda Jones is a Bonner Service Leader at Siena College Class of 2017. She will be majoring in Actuarial Science with a minor in Spanish. RaShonda is from Kalamazoo, MI and she enjoys mentoring and tutoring pre-teens in her community. In high school, she was a member of a youth leadership, social change program that promoted positive change in the community. In her free time, she loves playing tennis and bicycling.

 

Kelly Phillips

Kelly Phillips is a member of the Siena Class of 2017 and is majoring in psychology. She is a member of the Bonner Leadership Program. She has a huge history of volunteering in her community and will be a great addition to the Siena Bonner team. She is a Girl Scout, a volunteer firefighter with the Perth Volunteer Fire Company and does individual volunteer work. As a member of this team her leadership skills will be a great addition.

 

Alexander Pulver

Alex Pulver is a freshman undeclared business major, he is interested in declaring economics next year. As a Bonner service leader Alex serves as a program developer for the Albany High School 21st Century grant TeenCorp club. Alex develops curriculum for the after school program that promotes the development of skills to prepare students for college. The main challenges of working with Albany High are getting a population of students to stay after school, when many have never stayed after before. In his free time Alex likes to listen to music, go to concerts, and run.

 

Fanta Cheriff Sissoko

Fanta Sissoko is a Biology major at Siena College in the class of 2017. She is a proud Bonner Service Leader, Presidential Scholar, serves at the Albany YMCA as a Program Mentor. She's a member of five honor societies, and volunteers at Helen Hayes NYS hospital. She is involved in the Black and Latino Achievers Program at the YMCA which is a college preparation program for high school students from the Albany area. Here she serves as a mentor to the students, and helps students with college essays. She is currently helping to plan a Junior Black and Latino Achievers Program for middle school students in the Albany area. She's very grateful to be a part of the ACE community, and she plans to get involved with more clubs on campus.
