Building Trades Assistant Supervisor

Siena College is accepting resumes for a full-time Building Trades Assistant Supervisor in the Office of Facilities Management. Reporting to the Building Trades Supervisor, the Assistant Supervisor is responsible for providing supervision to the building trades, which include carpentry, painting and locksmith, and provide support to the Building Trades Supervisor. The Assistant Supervisor will determine preventive maintenance schedules, co-ordinate renovations and interdepartmental work requests, trouble shoot and use critical thinking to reach conclusions to problems. In addition the Assistant Supervisor will create daily work and overtime schedules, inspect and monitor all work by carpenters, painters, and locksmiths etc. to insure excellent craftsmanship. The Assistant Supervisor will also procure materials, keep appropriate inventories and prepare cost estimates. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements include: A high school diploma plus trade or vocational school; a minimum of three years of relevant experience; knowledge of standard and construction methods, practices and tools and of occupational hazards and safety practices; and excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills.
