Fr. Cyril J. Seaman: In Memoriam

The faculty and staff of the Standish Library wish to remember the memory of Fr. Cyril J. Seaman who entered eternal life on November 8, 2012.  Born in Kansas City, Kansas, Father Cyril was received into the Order of Friars Minor, Holy Name Province, in 1950 and ordained to the priesthood in 1956. He was a Franciscan friar for 61 years and a priest for 56 years.  He served at Siena College for 26 years as a teacher, friar-in-residence, and librarian.  He worked tirelessly to help students with research and he always made sure to learn students’ names.  Standish Library’s current catalogue system is named CYRIL, in his honor.
