Assistant Director of Major Gifts

Siena College is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Director of Major Gifts. The Assistant Director will be dynamic, creative and an experienced development officer interested in joining a progressive team of advancement professionals. Reporting to the Director of Development-External, the Assistant Director of Major Gifts will work with a given portfolio of prospects and suspects who have the capability to support Siena College with their financial and volunteer resources. The Assistant Director will travel a minimum of 30 percent of the time meeting with these identified individuals, and will both develop and execute strategies to secure the highest level of financial commitment from them in support of approved fundraising initiatives. The Assistant Director of Major Gifts will be a positive and regular contributor to the Major Gifts Office, the larger Development and External Affairs (D&EA) team, and Siena College.

A bachelor’s degree is required as well as a proven ability to close gifts, the ability to work collaboratively, willingness to travel, excellent written and verbal skills, the ability to be flexible and a commitment to higher education. Three years or more successful experience in major or planned gift fundraising and experience in higher education preferred as well as the ability to work with databases and prospect research.
