Charles Trainor has been a member of the English faculty at Siena for thirty years and has served as chair of the department. He is currently its liaison to the Education Department and supervises student-teachers in the English Education program. Dr. Trainor received his M.A. from Cambridge University and his Ph.D. from Yale University, with a specialty in the works of Henry Fielding, on whom he has published several pieces, including the book The Drama and Fielding's Novels. His current research is interdisciplinary in nature and focuses on the intersection of music and text in Fielding. He received the Jerome Walton Excellence in Teaching award in 2009 and regularly offers courses on the novel, drama, and Shakespeare.
