Computer Specifications

Note: This applies to Siena faculty, administrative, and staff computers. Students should check out Siena's Laptop Purchase Program for student computers.

In order to reduce computer-related problems when offices purchase their own equipment with college or departmental funds, ITS has set up some specific configuration standards for computers, printers, and scanners. These are being offered to facilitate fast and efficient ITS service calls and to recognize that standards for both hardware and software have been established by the Governance in Technology (GIT) Committee.

Special exceptions will be considered; however, the requestor needs to provide detailed justification for such deviations from established standards.
Note: Please remember that all technology purchases need to be coordinated with ITS to ensure hardware/software compatibility with our network and server environment.

ITS cannot provide support to any computer not meeting these standards or not coordinated with ITS for purchase
