Assistant Director, NASCE - Siena Research Institute

A full time, 12-month position is available in the Siena College Research Institute (SRI). This is a one-year only position. The Assistant Director, NASCE will join the SRI management team, managing the National Assessment of Service and Civic Engagement study. The NASCE is a national survey that uses student-reported experience to quantitatively measure community engagement among individual students and the institutions in which they are nested. The Assistant Director of the NASCE will be responsible for survey implementation, data collection, data analysis, interaction with NASCE clients, internal financial tracking, assistance with writing scholarly papers and articles, marketing of the study, and the solicitation of colleges and universities to take the survey. The Assistant Director of the NASCE will also be assigned other tasks at the discretion of the Director of SRI and they will be required to travel to conferences to promote the NASCE and discuss the results of the study. The Assistant Director will act as liaison between SRI and the NASCE clients. The Assistant Director manages the supervision of all interns, VISTA’s and staff working on the NASCE. The Assistant Director coordinates the preparation, implementation and analysis of all NASCE studies in collaboration with both the Director and the Director of Data Management.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred), strong knowledge and experience using statistical software (SPSS or SAS), previous research and report writing experience, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment. Other requirements include: knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with writing and implementing surveys; ability to train and mentor interns; strong public speaking and networking skills; and the ability to analyze and report on data.
