old Franciscan Center for Service and AdvocacyThe Franciscan spirit of service with and for others is part of what makes Siena College unique among liberal arts colleges. Rooted in the Franciscan tradition of service for others, especially the less privileged, and informed by Catholic Social teaching, the Franciscan Center for Service and Advocacy challenges all members of the Siena community to study and respond to the issues of justice, peace, and care for the environment in our community, in our nation, and throughout the world. The Franciscan Center for Service and Advocacy is the campus hub for volunteering and service projects. We partner with over 120 local service agencies, area schools, and other non-profit organizations in the Capital Region. Individuals can volunteer once or twice a semester on a particular project, or for semester or year long programming, and/or with academic service learning courses which combine classroom instruction with hands on experiential volunteering.
Highlights from Mr. Siena 2011 VolunteerThe Franciscan Center provides opportunities to be involved in agencies throughout the Capitol Region. Join any of our clubs including the Siena Mentoring Program or the Red Cross Club! |
