Recognition Award
The Advisory Board of the Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King Lecture Series on Race and Nonviolent Social Change at Siena College is seeking nominees for its inaugural Recognition Awards. As part of the annual events surrounding the MLK Lecture, this award has been added to honor those in our community living and working “in the spirit” of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The focus of the service should be in civil rights, human rights and/or social justice. We are looking to honor those working locally to combat racism, sexism, classism, militarism, and other similar aspects of our world that Dr. King lived his life fighting against. Promotion of nonviolence is a key aspect. The Deadline for filing applications is February 8th, 2013. No late applications will be accepted. We encourage you to upload the forms from www.siena.edu/mlk and submit them via e-mail as a Word or PDF Attachment. Completed forms can be e-mailed to lrogers@siena.edu. Print copies of the nomination form will also be accepted and can be faxed to (518)786-5013 or mailed to Lynn Rogers at:
Siena College Office of Academic Affairs Attn: Lynn Rogers 515 Loudon Road Loudonville, NY 12211-1462 Those selected will be honored at the Annual MLK Lecture on April 4, 2013 at 7:00 pm in the MAC on the Siena College campus. The 26th Annual Lecture will be given by Julia Alvarez.
