BUDV310 Entrepreneurship and New Business Creation

BUDV310 is currently offered every fall semester and is designed to: (1) help students understand entrepreneurship from an applied (hands-on) perspective; (2) develop and expand ideas for new business ventures; (3) determine the framework for turning the idea into a viable new venture; and (4) create the beginnings of a business plan by identifying the key components and writing a plan synopsis.

BUDV410 Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development

BUDV410 is currently offered every spring semester and is designed to take new venture ideas and develop them into viable new ventures ready for launch.

MRKT 090 - Special Topics: Marketing and Entrepreneurship for the Non-Business Major

This is an introductory course in entrepreneurship and marketing specifically targeted to non-business majors. 
 At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of entrepreneurship and small business, including the paths to entrepreneurship.

  • Describe and discuss entrepreneurial marketing, with emphasis on target market selection and positioning within the context of a firm's resources and competitive  capabilities. Describe and discuss product, promotion, pricing, and distribution strategies.

  • Describe and discuss management, accounting and finance in small business.

  • Describe, discuss, and create a business or marketing plan. 

  • Identify and discuss an entrepreneur's ethical and social responsibilities relative to all stakeholders. 

  Additionally, the course will allow students:

  • To further develop their analytical and communication skills, compiling information in a meaningful way and presenting information effectively in both a written and oral fashion.

  • To further develop their group interaction skills and the ability to perform effectively in a group context.
