Academic AmeriCorps is an ACE internship with a credit-bearing course at Siena College. Students complete and document 300 (minimum) hours of service with a non-profit organization in the Capital Region. Students focus their internship work on a social justice issue involving an underserved population. Upon completion, students can receive an AmeriCorps Educational Award (300 hour term- $1,132 or 450 hour term- $1,415). Students who participate in the program will gain recognition as part of a national network of AmeriCorps Volunteers and gain a better understanding of how their work connects to fighting poverty in the Capital Region.
