Fun stuff

Dr. Booker joined the faculty at Siena in 2002 following nearly 10 years on the faculty at Alfred University. His teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level is in economics, business strategy, and environmental studies.

As a visiting professor he has worked at the University of Wyoming, Kalamazoo College, and most recently at the University of Colorado; his Ph.D. is from Colorado State University.

His research focuses on regional impact analysis and the economics and policy of river basin management. He has developed several undergraduate courses to pursue research in these areas, most recently by applying input-output databases to estimate regional energy and material flows.

Dr. Booker's most recent publication, coauthored with J.C. O'Neill, is "Can Reservoir Storage Be Uneconomically Large?" in the Journal of Water Resources Planning and Management in 2006.

He is also active in professional service. At Siena he is a member of the School of Business Core Curriculum Committee, and the College Planning and Finance Committee.

In his profession, he has served for several years on the review panel for the NSF funded multi-million dollar SAHRA program. He is currently President of the New York State Economic Association.

In the community, he has served on the Board of Jones Memorial Hospital and the Board of Managers for the Finger Lakes Trail Conference, and has been the head soccer coach for preschoolers through middle-schoolers (and their parents) in several leagues.
