She serves as faculty advisor to the 21st Century Leaders Society and is co-founder and co-chair of the Siena College Student Conference in Business. Dr. Buff has published in Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Product and Brand Management, Sport Marketing Quarterly, Journal of Managerial Issues, and Marketing Education Review.

Michael has been a member of the American Marketing Association for numerous years and is currently the co-advisor for the Siena student chapter.
Dr. Andrea Smith-Hunter (Professor of Management)

She has published several articles in a number of journals. Her first book, "Diversity and Entrepreneurship: Analyzing Successful Women Entrepreneurs" was published in 2003. Her second book, "Women Entrepreneurs Across Racial Lines: Issues of Human Capital, Financial Capital and Network Structures" is slated for publication in the Fall of 2004.

http://www.siena.edu/pages/5643.asp Dr. Dorsey has been teaching the history of colonial and Revolutionary America and directing the Center for Revolutionary Era Studies since 2008. Dr. Dorsey's research interests are in the history of the early American republic and her scholarship focuses on African American history and labor history. Her first book,
Hirelings: African American Workers and Free Labor in Early Maryland will be published by Cornell University Press in the spring of 2011. Since arriving at Siena College, Dr. Dorsey has taught a number of service-learning courses in which students assist community partners while both studying history and learning the skills of applied history. These courses include "Investigating Ten Broeck," in which students conducted original research related to Ten Broeck Mansion, a Revolutionary-era historic house museum and home of the Albany Country Historical Association. Their work was presented to the Board of Trustees of the Albany County Historical Association and will be used to enhance their educational programming. She also teaches "Making History!," in which students develop interpretive talks about significant individuals buried in the historic Albany Rural Cemetery. The talks are recored in an MP3 format and will be included in a new interactive map of the Albany Rural Cemetery created by students in the Department of Environmental Studies.

Dr. Karen Ward Mahar has been teaching at Siena since 1998, and co-directing the American Studies program since 2000. She regularly teaches HIST101: Shaping of the Contemporary World, and HIST204: U.S. History II. Her upper-division courses have included the history of American cinema, U.S. women's history, the Meanings of Patriotism (co-taught), and American modernism. She is the History and American Studies internship supervisor, and teaches courses in public history, which includes work in museums, archives, archaeology, and other ways in which the public encounters history outside of the classroom. Her public history classes have visited Plimoth Plantation, Old Sturbridge Village, and Colonial Williamsburg for behind-the-scenes tours and seminars.

Dr. Mathew Johnson (Professor of Sociology, Director of Academic Community Engagement)
mjohnson*at*siena.edu Dr. Johnson is a qualitative sociologist, ethnographer, and current Director of the Siena College VISTA Program. His teaching focuses on community and international development, theory, social movements, the environment, and applied sociology. His research is focused on higher education, civic engagement, travel pedagogy, and indigenous movements. He is the recipient of numerous grants and the author of numerous conference papers.
Dr. Sudarat Musikawong (Assistant Professor of Sociology)
smusikawong*at*siena.edu Dr. Sudarat Musikawong earned her PhD in Sociology from the University of California at Santa Cruz. She teaches courses in Sociology of Media, Electronic Journalism, Popular Cultures, Globalization Studies, and Multicultural Studies. She was awarded the Standish Library Literacy grant for an ongoing curriculum project with Dr. Carla Sofka (Social Work). "Archiving 9/11" is a partnership with the New York State Museum. Her research interests focus on transnationalism, media, labor, national memory, and diaspora studies. Her publications include: "Art for October: Thai 1970s Cold War State Violence in Trauma Art," in positions: east asia cultures critique, 2010 and “Mourning State Celebrations: Amnesic Iterations of Political Violence in Thailand,” Identities, Global Studies in Culture and Power.
