Changing Your Password

From any Siena-owned computer

To change your network password on any Siena-owned computer, students must be logged on to a lab computer. (Faculty and staff can do this from their own office PC).

  • Press CTRL/ALT/Delete
  • A window will display.  Click on "Change Password."

    Windows Change Password

  • A second window will display.  It should show your Username and "Sienaservices" as the domain.  In the boxes below it, type in your old password, and your new password twice where indicated.
  • The system remembers your last 12 passwords and doesn't allow you to use them again. In addition, the password must be a minimum of eight characters, and must contain at least one upper case (capital) letter, one lower case letter, and a number. If the password is rejected, either it's too short, you've reused an earlier password, or you don't have all three types of characters (upper case letter, lower case letter, and number).  Choose something else and try again.
  • Click on OK.
  • A message will indicate that the password has been changed.
