Coordinator of Reference and Electronic Resources – (rank of Assistant Librarian)

Principal Responsibilities:

1. Manage all aspects of reference/research services offered at Siena’s Standish Library, including scheduling, staff training, statistics and traditional and innovative service development
2. In conjunction with the College’s IT staff , serve as the Library’s webmaster, manage and monitor access to Library’s research databases and web sites, maintain hardware and software, serve as technical contact for vendors and systems, and monitor new developments in information technology
3. Work with Collection Development Librarian and Director on selection of print, electronic and web reference works
4. Providing reference and research assistance to students and faculty at the Reference Center, including daytime, evening and weekend duty; serve as the expert research advisor to faculty and students
5. Participation in the library instruction program, through teaching and preparation of print and online guides and other instructional materials
6. Participation in the library liaison program with academic programs, including materials selection, library instruction, and research assistance
7. Participation in the overall management of the Library through the management team, as well as special assignments and reports
8. Serve the overall educational mission of the college through faculty and college committee work and other special assignments
9. Meet the requirements of the sections of the Faculty Handbook relating to library faculty

Required:
o Masters degree from an ALA-accredited school of library science
o Broad reference experience
o Working knowledge of information technologies

Preferred:
o Four years academic library experience
o Knowledge of emerging information technologies or web design
o Instructional or training experience
o 2nd master’s degree
