Outlook Web Access Logon

Outlook Web Access lets you use all of the features of Outlook on the desktop (iusing Internet Explorer).  Other browsers may work, but only allow for the basic client (see below).

When you log in to https://imail.siena.edu, the following screen will display:

Outlook Login

Type your username and password (.pdf) to log in.  There are two options to set, but the default options should work fine for most uses.

Security Options

  • Public or Shared Computer — logs you off the system after about fifteen minutes as a security measure.
  • Private Computer — Keeps you on the system for a longer period of time. Note:  This will allow others to get into your e-mail without any login.

Outlook Web Access Light

  • A simplified version of Outlook for use with slower systems and web browsers other than Internet Explorer. Fewer options available.

Using Outlook Web Access

When you log on to Outlook Web Access, you will see a screen showing your mail and other options.

Initial Screen

(Note: browsers other than Internet Explorer may display differently)
The window will open in your "Inbox" folder, so you can read messages. The default setting also displays the message in the right window. To see an entire message, click on the name of the message.  It will display in a new window. Be sure your popup stopper is not preventing this.

Sending a New E-mail

  • Click on "New"
  • Type the e-mail address in the To: field.   Hint: if the recipient is here in Siena, you can type just the first few letters of their  last name and click on the "Check Names" button in the center of the top menu bar.
  • Fill out the e-mail.
  • click on "Send"
