Honorable Joseph L. BrunoJoseph L. Bruno was first elected to the State Senate in 1976 and was elected Temporary President and Majority Leader of the Senate in January 1995. As a legislative priority, he has highlighted job creation and economic growth. Senator Bruno is a leading proponent of business, personal income and property tax reductions, which have helped to improve New York's economic health. These accomplishments have assisted in creating over 360,000 new jobs throughout the Empire State. Senator Bruno, a native of Glens Falls, New York, is a graduate of St. Mary's Academy and Skidmore College. He served the United States during the Korean War. Prior to his election, Senator Bruno was cofounder and Chief Executive Officer of the Coradian Corporation, a telecommunications firm which he headed from 1959 to 1990. He is a member of many community organizations including the Brunswick Elks, the Troy Boys Club, the New York State Jaycees, the Italian Community Center in Troy and is a sustaining member of the Twin Rivers Council of the Boy Scouts of America. |
