Verification

The federal government requires colleges to verify certain data elements reported by students and their parent(s) on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application. The verification process uses documentation (i.e. tax information) to confirm that the information provided on a student’s (FAFSA) is correct.

How will I know if I am selected?

The Federal Government notifies students via the Student Aid Report (SAR). In addition, the Financial Aid Office will contact you if you have been selected for verification.

The required documentation will be posted to your Web for Student account. You will also receive emails from the Financial Aid Office reminding you that you have outstanding requirements that must be completed to finalize your aid application.
