Developing Long-Term Sustainable Partnerships in the Capital Region of New York!

The Siena College AmeriCorps VISTA Fellows Program is housed within the Franciscan Center for Service and Advocacy's Office of Academic Community Engagement. It is a one-year, full-time, post-graduate national service fellowship program that focuses young professionals on building skills while fighting poverty in American communities.

Participants in the program:

  • Serve at a local school, non-profit, or other community organization.
  • Develop professional and leadership skills through program trainings, academic enrichment opportunities, and participation in committees that help strategize keys aspects of our program.
  • Establish a wide professional network of students, faculty, and staff and community justice leaders in the Capital Region.

Our History & Mission

The Siena College AmeriCorps*VISTA Fellows Program was established in January 2008 and has grown to 30 AmeriCorps*VISTA Fellows. Each VISTA Fellow is placed within the community at a school, non-profit, or other community organization to build, sustain, and promote civic engagement by fostering reciprocal relationships between students, faculty, administration and our local community in need.
