Assistant Professor of Creative Arts - Music

Assistant Professor of Creative Arts - Music: Siena College Department of Creative Arts invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning Fall 2011.

The applicant will hold a terminal degree in choral directing or vocal performance and have previous experience teaching in a college or university setting.

We seek a dynamic teacher, a flexible and imaginative musician who will work within our interdisciplinary department. We expect faculty to guide students in performances that combine our various programs in theatre, the visual arts, music, and broadcasting; these often require improvisation and mixed, innovative ensembles.

Standard assignments will be classes in chorus, voice, and general music education; we encourage the development of new courses suitable to the needs of the department.
